The Forgetting Machine was inspired by my experience in Armenia, where many abandoned Soviet-era buildings remain as traces of a history that is slowly being forgotten.

The installation combines the forms of the throat, spine, and pomegranate. Contact microphones capture vibrations from the body and transform them into unfamiliar sounds. Technology makes the body audible, but also separates the sound from its original source.

The work connects the forgetting of the body with the forgetting of history.
