Soft Pressure of Love
2026
Soft Pressure of Love is a series of sound installation works that transforms digital communication with loved ones—images, messages, and chat records—into printed textiles. These fabrics are sewn into soft, house-shaped cushions, each with a different size and form to represent a different type of love. For example, the love from my mother is translated into a feeling of pressure and compression: one cushion can be worn on the head, gently squeezing it. When the audience touches, presses, or embraces the works, they generate ASMR-like sounds. These sounds resemble whispers of love—comforting, intimate, and stress-relieving, yet at times sharp and noisy. Through this contrast, the work reflects on the complex nature of love: love can soothe and protect us, but it can also become overwhelming, heavy, and even painful.
